Many remember this site at West Indiana & 12th Street as the home of Yellow Sub, but from the '20s through the '50s it was one of Harzfeld's "boutique" stores. We're not sure of the status, but a new multi-use development is planned for the site.
Mrs. Musetta Roberts, 55, of 1901 N. H. died early this morning at her home. Cause of death was listed as chocking by aspiration. She was born March 18, 1909, at Atlanta, Neb., and lived most of her life in Lawrence. She was graduated by Kansas University in 1933, and managed Harzfeld's store near the KU campus from 1933 to 1952. . . .Survivors include the husband, Ray B. Green and white stripes were a signature of Harzfeld's from the early '40s when a new identity system was designed by Display Director, Erasmus (Ras) Beall (1912-1979).
